Honestly I LOVE the All America build & mindset, I want to love Origin boots...I just dont yet. The Wilton is an improvement in some regards, other areas let me down. The leather needs to be thicker- its a work boot. I love that its 360 leather welted with cork filler, the stitching is great & i really like the incresed volume. I love the Alpha sole and it is why I decided to buy. The leather is breaking in nicely but again seems too thin. I think the boot really needs to be leather lined- I hate synthetic linings, I think the little bit of foam under the synthetic lining does nothing for comfort, breaks down quickly & reveals the sharp edges of the steel toe cap- gets very anoying! The boot has the volume to accomodate a pigskin lining without changing the least, I think there should be a bit of veg tan patch at the insole for a bit of arch support- foam insoles are NOT support! I applaud the addition of fiberglass shank for stability the old boots lacked. Id suggest a composite toe cap rather than clunky steel. Id like a bit more fit in the heel, to get the width I want for toe splay & to not put pressure on bunions & achy arthritic toes the heel squirms. Lace tighter to point of fore foot pain to control it...Id like a better fit & more support around akles. I think an addition of a counter cover could give this support. I know there needs to be consessions to keep the boot out of the $400 bracket, but I DO think an improved Wilton with above suggestions could…

Thanks for the incredibly detailed feedback about THE WILTON 6" STEEL TOE WORK BOOT - ALPHA and for recognizing the All America build philosophy that drives everything we do. We're thrilled that you love the Alpha sole, the 360 leather welted construction with cork filler, and the improved volume.
We sincerely appreciate you bringing up the specific concerns about the leather thickness, synthetic lining issues, and the steel toe edge exposure during break-in. Your point about the foam under the synthetic lining breaking down and revealing sharp edges gives us crucial insight into how these materials are performing in real 12+ hour shop environments.
Your comprehensive suggestions; from leather lining and thicker work boot leather to composite toe caps, improved heel/ankle fit, veg tan arch support patches, and waxed lace, provide exactly the kind of detailed feedback our development team needs as we continue refining the Wilton. Your observation about needing to choose between proper toe room and heel stability is particularly valuable for understanding the fit challenges.
This detailed feedback on the leather durability, lining materials, toe cap protection, and fit specifications will be immediately passed along to our design and development teams as we work to improve the performance and longevity of THE WILTON 6" STEEL TOE WORK BOOT - ALPHA.
Thank you for your valuable input that helps us build better boots and for being part of the Origin Family!

My review is going to be slightly different than most, as I'm not wearing these as traditional "work boots". While I will be wearing them for work, my specialty is IT. My new position just so happens to be in an industry requiring safety-toe shoes, as the company deals with machinery and manufacturing of large, heavy components. I'm coming from a pair of Thursday boots, so I was looking for something low-profile (bulky boots look goofy on my 6'4" 180lb build) yet still ASTM rated. Ideally, I was hoping to support an American company as well. These criteria narrowed down my options pretty quickly, but I'm so glad I went with Origin. These Wilton's are about as sleek as you can get with a steel toe, and I can tell right off the bat that they're made with very high quality materials. Not only that, but they're extremely comfortable out of the box. A full workday on concrete flooring without an ache in sight, and comfort only seems to improve over time with leather boots in my experience. The fact that they're constructed with a full Goodyear leather welt is a huge plus as well, as I can keep them going for as long as the leather holds up (in my estimation, a very long time). While they're not the cheapest, I'm willing to pay for quality, American-made products that will last for years to come. Excellent job, Origin - you've found yourself another loyal customer.

Very nice leather, boots are supportive and so far after 2 months of 50 hour weeks holding up very well. Only issue I had was a very strong chemical smell from the removable insert, I replaced it and smell is gone. I’m a union carpenter and these are definitely work boots

Boots are great. Great fit out of the box. Ive owned three pairs of these now and love them. I did have some sole separation issues like mentioned in other reviews, but they're super easy to just glue back on. I dint have this issue until wearing them for a year. Please bring these back in black! I have to wear black boots at my job and would really like to continue buying these!

I purchased a pair of the composite toe version of these boots in December of 2024. I wear them every day in a shop setting for work. By January of 2025 the sole had begun to separate from the boot and in March it separated severely . I reached out to customer service and was given store credit for the value of the boots. I was told I could have the boots resoled/repaired. I have done so and now the inside has warm at the top of the boot and has cut the top of my foot. I have included pictures of the sole separation.
I love the mission of Origin and Love everything else I have bought. The Low quality of the boots especially at a near 300 dollar price tag was very disappointing.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding our WILTON 6" STEEL TOE WORK BOOT - ALPHA. We sincerely apologize for the disappointing experience you've had with the durability of the boots, particularly with the sole separation and subsequent interior wear issues.
We understand how frustrating it is when a work boot fails prematurely, especially when you rely on them daily for your shop work. The sole separation you've experienced after just one month of use and the interior wear causing injury are concerning and not representative of our quality standards. As an American manufacturer, we take great pride in creating durable work boots, and this falls short of the longevity and safety we strive to deliver.
Your specific feedback about both the sole separation and the interior wear causing discomfort is valuable information that will be shared with our quality control team. While we appreciate your support of our mission and satisfaction with our other products, we recognize that the performance of these boots, especially given their premium price point, has not met the standards you rightfully expect from our brand.
We will be reaching out to you in a separate email.
