Reviews Summary
Customers say these work boots are exceptionally comfortable and break in quickly, often within just a few days. Many appreciate the American-made construction and quality materials, with several users reporting 2-3 years of durability. The boots feature roomy toe boxes and excellent ankle support. However, some experience issues with the inner liner tearing after a few months of regular use, particularly where heel contact occurs. A few mention concerns about waterproofing and sand infiltration through tongue gaps. While most find the fit excellent, some note sizing challenges for narrow feet. Despite higher prices, many consider them a worthwhile investment and purchase multiple pairs.

Tough Ass boots that are extremely comfortable

I'm currently on my third pair of origin boots, and I can't speak more highly of their quality. I love these boots so much that I wear them on a daily basis.

I work in a pulp mill, and these boots regularly get hit with chemicals, drenched with water, submerged, and walked in for up to 20 miles a day.

They also survive my motorcycle which I ride often. These boots have literally been to hell and back with me, and they still hold strong 🤣

I also love the tongue on this newer boot design, they are much better at keeping water out.

I honestly can't speak more highly of these boots so far, and I love that they are made in America.

Keep doing what you're doing Origin because I'm about to order my fourth pair.

We're absolutely blown away by this incredible review, Chris! Knowing that The Wilton is delivering the durability and comfort you need through the brutal conditions of pulp mill work AND 20-mile daily walks is exactly what we engineered these boots to handle. Hearing that you're on your third pair and ready to order your fourth is the ultimate testament to our American craftsmanship. We're stoked that the improved tongue design is keeping the water out better too! Thanks for putting our boots through hell and back, and for your unwavering support of homegrown manufacturing excellence!

    Work boot review

Quality materials were used to create these. The tongue stays centered going up your lower shin, even with being tied at the ankle or higher up the shin. My only complaint is that the steel toe box should be slightly wider to accommodate the EE size. My pinky toe will occasionally catch on the steel toe which causes some discomfort and may eventually lead to a damaged toenail or broken toe depending on type and intensity of work being done.

Hi Nicholas! Thanks for the detailed review of THE WILTON 8" STEEL TOE WORK BOOT. We're glad to hear you're impressed with the quality materials and that the tongue stays properly centered during wear - that's exactly what we aim for in our construction.

We really appreciate your honest feedback about the steel toe box width in the EE size. That kind of specific input about fit issues, especially from someone experiencing discomfort in the pinky toe area, is exactly what we need to hear. We'll definitely pass this along to our design team to look at the toe box dimensions for wider sizes.

Thanks for the thoughtful review and for supporting American-made boots!

    Finally good boots.

Im a mobile diesel mechanic... Im hard on my clothes. I haven't been able to find a pair of boots that will last longer than 6 months for a long time, BUT THESE BOOTS ROCK! They broke in fast and have lasted me a whole year. I can't recommend them enough. I'll be buying another pair here soon!

Good but not great. Best use - light duty to light-medium duty.

I've got about 2/3 of a season of excavation on these boots. Even mix of operating, trucking, and laboring. Cleaned and oiled approx every 8 weeks.

    Pros:

    - American made and sourced

    - Quality materials

    - Comfy

    - Fastest break-in of boots I've ever had

    - Vibram soles

    - Goodyear welt has held up well

    Cons:

    - Not waterproof

    - Inner liner ripped apart after 2 months of regular use due to poor design. The stitching is directly in line with where your heel drags when you put the boots on and take them off.

    - 1 Hook-Eyelet broke after 4 months of use.

    - Gussetted tongue only keeps large debris out of the boots. There are 2 holes in the corners of where the tongue attaches to the toe-box that allows sand to infiltrate the boot.

If Origin wants these to be more desirable to tradesmen who actually put the boots to work, there are a few design improvements they can focus on. Waterproofing is going to be a BIG one tho.

    Hi Caleb,

Thanks for taking the time to share your detailed feedback on THE WILTON 8" STEEL TOE WORK BOOT - BIG LUG! We're thrilled to hear the break-in was the fastest you've experienced and that the comfort, Goodyear welt construction, and Vibram soles are delivering the performance you expect from American-made work boots. It's awesome that those core elements are holding up well through your excavation season.

We sincerely appreciate you bringing up the specific durability issues, especially the details about the inner liner stitching placement causing premature wear and the hook-eyelet failure after four months of regular use. Your input about the liner stitching being positioned directly where heel drag occurs gives us valuable insight into how our current construction design isn't accounting for the real-world wear patterns that tradesmen experience during daily use.

We also hear you on the waterproofing and the gusseted tongue design allowing sand infiltration through those corner attachment points. Your feedback about these being better suited for light to light-medium duty rather than the heavy excavation work you're putting them through helps us understand exactly where our current design and material choices need to perform better for serious tradesmen who are counting on their boots in demanding conditions.

Thank you for your honest feedback about both the quality foundation that's delivering solid performance and the specific design improvements that would make these boots work better for the heavy-duty applications where tradesmen really need reliable gear. This kind of detailed input from someone actually putting boots to work in excavation gives us exactly the insight we need to understand how our construction and weatherproofing need to evolve!

    Good boot for 2 years

I ordered mine just over 2 years ago…most comfortable work boot I’ve ever owned.

Sole just came detached from the heel if my left boot, they made it a solid 2 years for me atleast.

    Hi John,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback on THE WILTON 8" STEEL TOE WORK BOOT - BIG LUG! It's fantastic to hear that these have been the most comfortable work boots you've ever owned. That's exactly what we aim for, and knowing they've kept your feet comfortable through 2 solid years of work really speaks to the comfort engineering we put into the Wilton design.

We sincerely appreciate you bringing up the sole detachment issue, especially the specific details about it happening at the heel area after just over 2 years of wear. Your input gives us valuable insight into how our sole bonding is performing over extended use periods and where we might need to focus on improving durability in that critical heel connection point.

Thank you for your honest feedback about both the exceptional comfort that made these your go-to work boots and the specific durability issue with the sole separation that's affecting the longevity. This kind of detailed input about where our construction isn't meeting the long-term performance standards helps us understand exactly how our bonding and assembly processes need to perform for customers who depend on their boots day in and day out!
