I just was to start by saying they are very comfortable. once they are on your feet you could work a 10 hour shift without any pain. Now for the downsides which made me give it a 3 Star. You got TWO major flaws I hope you address. First, they are very difficult to put on and take off. Most Chelsea boots have the opposite problem. I like that once they are on the don't slip around, but your not getting them off without using both hands, and maybe a cramp in your foot after a long day. Second, there is just a lot of excess leather around the crease/arch where the toe bends. It makes the boot kind of look like a blob instead of a defined shape. So, basically they look really UGLY! Maybe I got a defective pair, it feels like they used a size or two bigger in leather and just retro fitted them to fit this smaller boot. I don't know, but it makes them look cheap even though the leather and quality is not. I'm to try wearing them on an extra rainy day, then hitting them with the hair drier to see if they shrink a bit. For now, I think if you want the comfort, grab a lace up version and avoid the Chelsea style. Bonus: size down, or look at European sizes, I'm usually a 11-US/44-EU but they label a 10.5-US/44-EU. The length is perfect at 44-EU for me.

The leather is better in person. It's soft but feels tough. I like the sole for the grip but it is very heavy and you can feel it walking around. I wish the lining in the toe box was leather like the Statesmen, you can feel it when walking, I'm not sure how long that will last. This Chelsea fits nothing like the Statesmen, a much looser fit which is fine, just different. This should be a great three season boot for years to come. Thank you for making and building products in the USA.
