The boots look superb and I love the ethos of the company and sourcing of materials. The quality control of these however is pretty poor. There are observable and measurable differences between the left and right boot. I'm not a boot enthusiast by any means and the following may not be the correct vernacular but between the right and left boot, the upper/quarter part of the boot where the lace holes exist is stitched onto the vamp (again, apologies if this isn't correct terminology) incomparably. The upper/quarter on the right boot is stitched onto the vamp both lower and more toward the toe than on the left boot. For the sake of measurable comparison, I counted both "lines" of visible stitching on the "swirly" stitch part of the boot on the inside of each boot. The left boot has 52 visible stitches and the right has 45. So, practically, the upper on the right boot is roughly a quarter inch lower than the left. While this may seem trivial, it is not. This results in two boots that largely look the same but wear completely different. If it was just aesthetic, I'd shrug it off but the variation in construction causes variations in break-in and wear and thusly, comfort. One boot feels fine, the other hurts my foot. This might just be expected with $300 boots but idk.. seems like a lot of money for that much tolerance.

The American Bison boot. Before I pulled the trigger I watched all the videos, took in all the reviews. I've had these for about 3 weeks and I've never stated that anything has fit "perfectly", but I'm saying it now. Out of the box, I thought these felt stiff in my hands and I had the impression these would have a long break-in period. I'm wrong. Hours into the first wear I was surprised at comfortable they were. Days into the wear they feel even better - no stiffness throughout the boot and comfortable toe-box space. No heel slip. Badass boots made out of an American heritage beast, tamed by American hands in Maine.

Well I bought a pair of the moc toe boots around a month ago to be my new work boots. Everything about them was top notch , I thought they were too nice to wear to work, so I bought this pair of boots. They too are the best pair of boots I have ever had regardless of the price. They are really nice , the look , the fit , everything. I do wear them to work but I keep my old worn out pair near by in case I have to do anything really nasty such as welding or servicing a hydraulic system,as I don’t want to mess them up . But in the event they do mess up from something I do , I can’t really see them messing up from a quality issue I will definitely get another pair. I really hope that this company stays around for a long time and keeps striving to make great products in America from American materials.
