I do a fair amount of running and am on my feet all day working construction, the heel pain in the morning was getting very bad. After trying these boots out the pain diminished significantly after a couple of days, within a week completely gone. Very happy with Origin boots. Can't wait to try out the new gi.

For background, I am not generally easy on boots. 18-24 months before a critical failure like these boots experienced is typical and acceptable. I'm not in the trades, but I put about 40 miles a week on my boots typically, in dust, sand, and salt. To counter that, I'm pretty good about washing that salt off, using my boot dryer to get them totally dry, and generously oiling them a few times a month. I know, more would be good, but that wasn't the issue here.
Let's start with the good. The leather has been pretty solid. Except for a small hole at the base of the tongue on one boot that let in water and the occasional pebble (which I was willing to overlook, even fresh out of the box) they have repelled water adequately. They were generally comfortable, though I would order half a size larger, as the toe box was pretty tight.
The bad. The picture I've attached shows where the felt liner behind the heel has worn through. I felt it open up at work and had a big nasty blister by the end of the day. So they're going in the trash soon. As a disclaimer, this isn't a new issue for me, not unique to these boots. Eventually nearly half of the boots I've owned eventually fail for me this way. However, I've NEVER had it happen so soon. I got these delivered at the end of September, so they made it just about 9 months, though the winter was wet enough that I spent about two months in my rubber boots, so call it 7 months of wear. For a brand that won't leave my inbox alone, crooning…

Thanks for the detailed feedback on the Wilton 8" Steel Toe Work Boot and for taking the time to break down exactly how you use your gear—40 miles a week in those conditions is serious work, and it sounds like you know how to take care of boots properly.
Really sorry to hear about the heel liner failure causing that blister situation. Having boots fail on you during a work day is never acceptable, and 7 months of actual wear time is way below what we should be delivering, especially when you're doing everything right with the maintenance and care.
We'll get your feedback about the heel liner durability and the tight toe box directly to our design and production teams so they can dig into what's happening with this boot's construction. Coming from someone who clearly knows what good boots should deliver, this kind of real-world testing data is crucial for us to improve.
We sent you a separate email to get this sorted out for you! Thanks for the honest review and for giving us the chance to do better.
