When I told my girlfriend how much I spent on a gi, she looked at me like I was outta my mind. I hit her with the “SEED TO STITCH” line—Made in the USA, baby.

Next thing I know, I’m deep down the rabbit hole learning about how this company is actually doing it. Not outsourcing. Not cutting corners. Just making legit, high-quality gis right here in the U.S.—and doing it right.

Mine showed up just in time for belt promotions at my academy, and that session was hot. This gi handled it like a champ. Breathes way better than I expected, even without a rashguard, and keeps the sweat off way better than anything else I’ve worn.

This thing is now my favorite gi. Gonna have to save up for another one, because once you wear it, you’ll understand—one just isn’t enough.

Now all I need is an IBJJF comp-legal version.

I own about 9 or 10 different gi's and have an athleta that I was a huge fan of. So I figured why not jump up to the raptor for a recent promotion. I ordered it in the same size as the athleta and it was too big so I had to go down a size and it fits perfect. The return and exchange process was extremely fast and they were very helpful. Highly recommend.

Love this gi. Almost feels invisible. It is incredibly lite and sleek but feels strong. I have an apelike shape in that I have long apey arms and a very long orangutan torso while simultaneously having very short legs. The website suggested a size and it was bang on. (the arms and length matched perfectly.) The “short” inseam option for the pants is exactly what I was looking for and they run right to my ankle.

I was initially suspicious of the swivel belt system but having tried it out I instantly converted.

Absolutely loved that after an hour of rolling it didn’t feel cold, wet and heavy with sweat (and that half an hour in front of a strong fan made it dry enough to roll again without being wet, sloppy and gross for training partners and students).

My only critique is that the stitching inside the pants has not been cleaned up and there is quite a bit of 1/2 inch or so threads mocking the otherwise remarkable and insanely comfortable trousers. I’ll have to do some surgery with scissors and a lighter but I feel QC should have caught this for a high end product.

The Rift 2.0 is currently my favorite gi comparing it to my others (Tatami, Addidas, Mizuno, Fuji, Hayabusa).

I have generally preferred heavier gi’s in the past but I can honesty say this one has changed my mind.

Having said all that I will check back in a few months and share my experience of how everything is holding up.
