I first would say that I like what Origin is doing as a company and am 100% supportive of American Manufacturing. That said, when you pay a premium price ($270 for a gi top and bottom!) I feel a premium product, backed by premium service is warranted. I was left wholly disappointed.

My first major complaint is size. I ordered an A2 top and it was more like an A3. It was way too loose on me (Im 5'9" 185lbs) and the sleeves were too long. I washed it hoping it may shrink a bit, it didnt. I have owned 6 other gi's, all A2's, none fit this poorly.

My second major complaint is the fabric. The best description I have for the fabric is slippery. I am not a fan. The lapel comes untucked from behind your belt (regardless of how you tie your belt) way too easily. Its annoying after a roll and a competitive disadvantage against anyone that has a good lapel game. Also, I expected that it would breathe much better than any other lightish weight gi I have owned, it didnt.

My third and last major complaint is the service. When my order arrived there were no belts for the pants (it is supposed to ship with two). I reached out to customer service and received a response the next day and the belts were shipped the day after. I had to wait another week before I could train in my new gi. Not all that big of a deal. Mistakes happen, but again; when you pay double what other average gi's are going for I dont think its unreasonable to expect some attention to detail or expedited shipping on…
