    Didn’t even know what spats were.

    Short version: would buy them again in a different size

    Long version:

    Just entered the world of “the BJJ” and had no reference points for fit. Couldn’t have told you what spats were. No idea what the difference between compression and comfort could be, other than by definition. So, I went with the clearance to be on the “safe” side.

    Pro: Love the fabric. Feels breathable and super-light but sturdy.

    Con: The recommended size was way too small. I’m a 49 year-old, female, “average” shaped gen-x-er, not a super fit small dude. So, the waistband felt like squeezing myself into two links of a sausage, and the stretch of the material across my non-dude like behind left little to the imagination.

    Not realizing I may have had a chance to return them, they went into the wash with the other new gear, and now I will be pawning them off onto one of the vastly more experienced members where I train. The fact that they are Origin has already raised plenty of eyebrows and piqued all the interest.

    I will not be posting a photo due to general personal decency standards.

    Good news: Now I know what they are and have a reference for sizing!
