I've followed Origin for a long time, but never had one of their Gi's before now, just their rash guards. But I've always really respected what they are doing. Honestly, one of the reason's I've never had an Origin Gi prior to now was the price, and I also always wanted the lightest weight Gi possible because I live in Texas and it gets blazing hot down here for half of the year.
This is my 6th Gi, so I have had several different brands/Gi's prior to this one. Several of them are also great Gi's with excellent reviews, and while I still like those Gi's, this is the best Gi I have ever worn/rolled in! It is super soft and comfortable to roll in, an honestly, I don't even really know its there when I'm rolling.
The Gi Jacket's Nano Pearl weave and PolySynth thread used give it an almost slightly waxy feel on the outside if you try to get a grip, which I think helps a little bit against opponents getting and keeping grips (I'll take all the help I can get).
I bought this as a combo with the Origin Pro BJJ pants and they are incredible as well. This is now my favorite Gi. The plastic snaplock belt buckle on the Pro pants is awesome, and I don't even know its there when I roll. The pants are light, and I like how they are tailored compared to normal Gi pants from other manufacturers, yet they don't feel constricting at all. The Gi Jacket and pants launder well and it's super helpful that they don't shrink and I can just throw all my BJJ stuff in the dryer on extra low…

Awesome gi, pants don't fit again though. I find Origin pants sizing consistently, inconsistent.

I really enjoy my GI but I had to make a sacrifice for the pants being so short due to my height im 6'3". it would be amazing if there was additional sizes to accommodate for the taller jiu jitsu athletes. I did order a long in the GI bottoms but that is only 30".
