I’m an overnight stocker at a very busy wholesale club. I get after it every work shift. I bought 5 of these on November 29, 2024, as replacements for my Delta 68 jeans. I was hoping the stretch of those jeans would make them great work pants, because my job requires me to squat a lot. Unfortunately, only 1 pair of Delta 68 jeans (out of 7) have survived the past couple of years of me working while wearing them. The rest have ripped in the groin area. So, last year, I figured I should try these out, hoping that the thicker material would help these jeans to last longer than my Delta 68’s. Unfortunately, all 5 pairs ended up ripping in the groin area, in less than 10 months. If the groin area was better reinforced to the point where these jeans would last me at least 2 years, then these would be 5/5 stars for me, because I like everything else about these jeans. I don’t want to give up on Origin yet, so I guess at some point, I’ll try 1 pair of their most expensive pants, and see how long they last, before I buy several more of them. For now, I plan to wear out some old, non-Origin jeans first.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding the durability of our FIELDCRAFT TAC JEANS, and we sincerely appreciate your continued loyalty to Origin despite these disappointing experiences.
We sincerely apologize for the repeated groin area failures you've experienced across both our Delta 68 jeans and now all five pairs of your FIELDCRAFT TAC JEANS in less than 10 months. Your work as an overnight stocker requiring constant squatting and heavy movement demands gear that can withstand that level of stress, and we're clearly failing to deliver the durability you need and deserve.
The fact that you've experienced the same groin area tearing issue across multiple product lines over several years highlights critical design and reinforcement deficiencies in our construction that need immediate attention. When customers are investing in multiple pairs of work pants and putting their trust in our products for demanding physical jobs, our gear should absolutely be engineered to handle that level of use for much longer than 10 months.
Your specific feedback about the groin area needing better reinforcement provides invaluable insight for our product development team. As an American manufacturer, we should be producing workwear that stands up to the toughest job requirements, and your experience clearly shows we have significant improvements to make in our construction and material reinforcement.
Your detailed experience with durability issues across our jean lines will be shared with our product development, design, and quality control teams to help drive meaningful improvements in reinforcement and construction methods for customers who depend on our gear for demanding physical work.

After purchasing the Tac Jean on the first drop in April 2024, I can say I’m impressed with the durability, wear in and feel.
On the first try on, the jeans fit true to size and had some flex. I’m a 34x32 and after a year of wearing them every day to every other day with washing and air drying they have maintained the same fit.
The belt loops are in a different place from your standard Jean and if you appendix carry this is nice as you don’t have to battle the clip placement of your belt loops, IWB strong side feels okay but would recommend sizing up due to how the pant hugs your body.
After the first 4 washes one of the back pocket rivets came off in the wash, with another falling off after 3 months or so. I’ve seen other reviews of the pant and this seems to have happened before with the first batch from April 2024. Nevertheless, the pockets have stayed intact because of the heavy stitching even with the 1 rivet gone from either side.
The pant color has also worn in very well with the fades happening in all the places used as expected and turned into a medium wash kind of look from the dark indigo after 1 year.
With emphasis on EDC and work use this is a great pant for both and even when you prefer jeans over field pants on the range. I hope it’s restocked again in the future to compare a new one to the one I have.

We're truly grateful for your detailed one-year review of our FIELDCRAFT TAC JEAN! Your comprehensive feedback about the durability, fit retention, and practical EDC features is incredibly valuable. While we note your feedback about the rivets, it's great to hear that the heavy-duty stitching has maintained the pocket integrity. Thank you for being part of the Origin family and for sharing such thorough, long-term feedback about these jeans!

Very nice jeans.
Good quality denim that is thick and robust feeling.
Fly zipper is not YKK?
Thighs are still a bit tight with my beefy quads which is a common issue I have in jeans but the stretch helps.

We're pleased to hear you're appreciating the robust nature of our denim while still benefiting from the built-in stretch. It's great knowing the stretch properties are helping accommodate, even though you're finding the thigh area a bit snug.
