This thing doesn’t block wind at all, and it’s not a great insulator. Sitting in a tree and I get cold.
It’s very quiet, seems pretty well made, but as an insulation layer there is a lot of room to improve.

I love the boiled wool exterior finish. It will hold up much better over the years. The inside is extremely soft and comfortable. I also love this camo pattern. It does really well out in my neck of the woods in the Northeast. This is definitely a heavy-duty wool jacket. It will keep you warm as an outer layer down to the 40's-50's. It's form fitting enough to be a great mid layer for when the temperature really drop, too. I love that it's made in America. I have the stealth wool pants too. Which I will most likely use as a heavy duty mid layer, for those freezing conditions I get in my neck of the woods. I usually wear a XXXL, but this XXL fits just fine. For reference, I'm 6' tall, 255lbs, with broad shoulders and a muscular build. The only gripe I have with Origin clothes, is that they use a lot of polyester. Which can reek havoc on your hormones. I try not to wear it next to my skin. This will always be worn over Merino or Alpaca wool base layers. I love Origin gear and have spent over a $1,000+ dollars buying their gear. I would spend even more and buy even more gear, if they used more natural materials. I bought all of the gear they offer with Merino wool blends. I'm a big fan of Alpaca and Merino wool. And would buy any gear made with either of those two wool blends. Polyester is rugged, resists stains, dries quickly, and seems to last forever. But it isn't healthy to wear next to your skin. Love this jacket. Keeps you warm and fits nicely. All the great qualities that come with wool. Seems pretty durable so far. On a brisk, windy day I this under the stow jacket made a great combo.
