I work in the residential construction industry as a carpenter. I do everything from earth work, concrete, framing, to finish carpentry. For the past 20 years, I’ve worn Levi’s 505 and Wrangler Cowboy cut jeans for work. I was always on the fence to try jeans that cost $100 or more. After listening to an interview with Pete on a podcast and listening to his story about Origin, I finally pulled the trigger and bought 3 pairs of the boot cut work jeans. Because of the cost, i had these three pairs of jeans for a 5 days work week (instead of buying 5), worn multiple days without a wash. For context, when I wore Levi’s or Wranglers, I would get about 3 months before a huge hole developed in the knee, as I kneel a lot on the job sites. Also, Levi’s and Wranglers are about $60 a pair. I’ve attached a photo with a pair of Origin Boot Cut Work jeans I purchased October 2023 next to a pair of brand new Origin Boot Cut Work jeans I received April 2025 and I’ve been telling everyone about the quality. They lasted 1 year 6 months before the hole in the knee got pretty large, although not as large as the Levi’s or Wranglers would be at 3 months. The price tag seems steep but when you do the math compared to Levi’s or Wranglers it’s actually much more cost effective to buy the better quality jeans as they last so much longer and you can feel very proud that you are supporting a company that has put American manufacturing at the forefront. Love everything I have gotten from Origin. Hands down my favorite jeans. The triple stitching is excellent, the ability to get sizes that actually work for my frame is a huge plus, and sheer comfort a welcome advantage.

So I ordered two different styles of jeans. This one, and another. The other was wildly large (waist) and I didn't hesitate to return it. This Maverick style was a better fit... still, loose. But I figured they'd shrink a little after a wash. I ended up returning the other style and exchanged it for a 2nd pair of these Mavericks.
I washed them, put them on... they're comfortable, but I'm swimming in the waist. I absolutely cannot wear them without a belt, and the belt bunches the fabric beneath and the button/zipper in the front sags below the belt buckle. So now I've got two pairs of jeans, size 40w, which are in reality 42+ around the waist.
Can I return a return? I don't know.

Really glad to hear they're comfortable, but sorry the sizing is causing you trouble with that loose waist fit and the bunching issues with the belt.
We'll get your feedback about the waist measurements running large directly to our sizing team so they can look at our measurement standards and make sure our tagged sizes are matching up with actual waist dimensions. This kind of straightforward feedback on fit fundamentals is exactly what we need to dial in our sizing consistency across different jean styles.
And yes, you can absolutely return the exchange - our team will work with you to get this sizing situation sorted out so you end up with jeans that actually fit the way they should.
