I have only ever had Danner boots and whatever the Navy "Boondocker" boots were. So these are the first boots I have ever bought for myself as a civilian. They look great. I have only had mine for a couple of weeks, so they are still breaking in.

The boots were hard on my feet the first day, so I took out the insoles that came with them and replaced with orthotics for flat feet and they are significantly more comfortable now.

I will say that I was surprised that the left boot is a lot tighter than the right boot. This is the only shoes I have where this is true. But with the left boot I barely pull the laces together before the boot is tight and the right boot I have snug the laces all the way down till the eyelets are almost touching before the boot feels tight. Not sure if this is an issue with the material or if it is something else.

Overall though, so far I am very happy with the boots.

I ordered a pair of boots that slipped a little at the heel; Origin customer service was awesome during the whole exchange process. Simple and quick.

I will say that for me, a little patience with the boots was necessary. The leather needed a couple of weeks to break down and break in--but they are now the most comfortable boots I've owned.

It's interesting too--they are a relatively simple boot, but the craftsmanship is so obvious that I regularly get compliments. Thanks Origin.
